Hitler himself was obsessed with its development, and the result was a massive machine with virtually impenetrable armor and an extremely accurate 88mm gun. Manned by elite crews, it struck fear in the hearts of Allied soldiers from the Eastern Front to Normandy. But there simply weren't enough of them to change the course of the conflict.
